Rescues, Adoptions, and Strays
See Spot Rescued has a single purpose, to provide a permanent loving home for every homeless dog. We are a non profit 501(c)3 volunteer based dog rescue organization.
We strive to make the best possible match between the family and the dog, based on previous history, breed and experience. We work from the premise that each of these four legged furry beasts are our clients. Our mission is to find them a lifetime companion whom will provide them eternal unconditional love.
JerseyCats is a foster based, 501(c)3 non-profit rescue dedicated to improving the lives of homeless cats and kittens through rescue and adoption. We strive to make the perfect match for our adoptable cats, finding each and every one their true forever home.

Liberty Humane Society’s mission is to foster a community of compassion and respect, and provide animals in need with a chance at a lifelong, loving home.
We care for, treat, and find homes for thousands of animals every year. Rehoming animals who have nowhere else to go is one of the most urgent aspects of our mission, but our long-term goal is to build a community in which those services are no longer needed.
Companion Animal Trust, Inc. (CAT) is a 501c3 non-profit animal welfare organization located in Jersey City, New Jersey. Since 2004 CAT has been helping homeless stray cats and dogs in Hudson County find new life long homes. CAT practices and promotes the No Kill philosophy of compassion over killing. We do not have a shelter facility so all cats are fostered in our homes.
A major CAT program is the Neighborhood Feral Cat Initiative. This program provides feral cat Trap Neuter Return training workshops, loans out traps and provides low cost feral cat spay neuter to the community. Since 2009 over 500 people have become TNR certified and 2,000 feral cats have been spayed and neutered in Hudson County through this program.

Traveling With Your Pets
New Jersey police officers can stop drivers anytime they believe that an animal is being improperly transported. The law forbids dogs from hanging out of windows (and also riding in the beds of pickup trucks). Motorists are required to properly restrain their pets, which in the state of New Jersey means that they need to be buckled up with restraints specifically designed for pets, or safely stowed in a pet crate. The fines are steep, too, with a price tag of $250 to $1,000 – and drivers could potentially face charges under animal cruelty laws.
